I’m sick of second-guessing myself, so I’m officially holding this contest. Now sit back and I’ll explain it all.

Contest Line Art


Goal
To come up with character designs for five coyote brothers: Lael, Orthus, Lirab, Seffe, and Bryzo.

Character Info

_{These guys would be in their mid-twenties, or 3-4 years old in dog years. All five of these brothers are from the same litter, so they’re very close. They hardly ever get into fights with each other, only with people outside their family. They are also very honorable, with morals stronger than steel.
Also, these coyotes are actually Rae’s adopted siblings, so they don’t necessarily have to resemble her.}

Lael - _{The eldest brother. He’s the most well adjusted, very patient and kind, and has the most common sense. He is very athletic, talented in many different areas, also very modest. He was the brother who was closest to Rae.}

Orthus - _{Second-eldest brother. He’s sort of a shady character, quiet and suspicious. He thinks he’s better than everyone else, except Lael, who he holds in high regard.}

Lirab - _{Middle brother. Very smart, and extremely clever, Lirab is definitely the brainiac type; he’d be considered a geek. Can usually be found behind a microscope, or hidden in a textbook. He is also blunt, straightforward, and a little mean.}

Seffe - _{Second youngest brother, but he is definitely the most childish. He’s annoying, playful, happy, and very rebellious. His trickster nature blatantly shows of the coyote stereotype.}

Bryzo - _{He’s the youngest pup, but also the biggest of the litter. He’s a sweetheart, emotional, and empathetic. Despite his quiet, soft nature, he also identified well with Rae.}

Markings
Since these are my characters, and your markings, I might not use the winning designs I pick. The designs could just be a starting point for me to add my own markings.
I don’t mind unnatural colors (purple, pink, green, etc.), but I want the primary coat color to be natural. My initial idea was to have Lirab primarily cream, Lael and Seffe mainly tan/brown, and Orthus and Bryzo gray/black. Those are just my suggestions, but you stand a better chance of winning if you follow those guidelines.
Other than that, just go wild. Feel free to add accessories as well (but I will add my own later).

Judging
Because it’s my contest, and ultimately my characters, I will be judging the entries myself. It will be based on how much I like the designs, and how much, or little, I alter the designs in the end.

Prizes
There will be five winners, and possibly five runners-up. More prizes depending on how generous I feel. Less prizes depending on how many entries I get.

Final Rules
1. You can submit a character design for only one brother, or all five. It’s totally up to you.
2. There is no limit on how many entries you can submit, so by all means, go for it.
3. You can change the lineart template any way you want (adding things, taking off the words and color recommendations, etc.), you can also draw your own picture if you want.
4. You MUST enter a full-colored body shot, regardless if you use my template or if you draw your own.
5. Submitting an entry means that you are allowing me to use it as I see fit. This might mean using that exact design for my characters, or altering the design.

Temporary Deadline - JUNE 8th
That should be enough time, but I might end up extending it anyway.
